Electric Spring is an annual festival of sonic exploration of cutting-edge practice in electronic music. The festival has had a few different manifestations since its start in 1995, and for awhile even a different name, but across its history it has maintained a commitment to presenting the work of some of the most significant and innovative composers and performers in electronic music through the resources of the Music Technology programme at the University of Huddersfield.

The festival has featured hundreds of international participants in concerts, installations, workshops and symposia representing all corners of electronic music practice. Its educational events, including the annual Creative Coding Lab Symposium (previously the Max/Msp PowerUsers Symposium), are open to the public, and many of these contributions can be viewed through the  CeReNeM YouTube channel Since 2008, the festival has used the ever-expanding Huddersfield Immersive Sound System ( https://www.thehiss.org/), a loudspeaker orchestra that now features up to 50 channels and 66 speakers.

Since its inception, the festival has been curated by the Music and Music Technology staff of the University of Huddersfield.
